EU control in Oslo — statutory vehicle inspection
The EU control (EU-kontroll) is the statutory periodic inspection every Norwegian-registered vehicle must pass. We inspect cars, vans and camper vans at our Oslo workshop and report the result straight to Statens vegvesen, so there is nothing for you to file afterwards.
What the job includes
- Full statutory inspection to Statens vegvesen requirements
- Brakes, steering, suspension and wheel bearings
- Lights, wipers, mirrors and visibility
- Exhaust and emissions measurement
- Chassis and body corrosion check
- Result reported electronically to Statens vegvesen
Common questions
How often does my vehicle need an EU control?
Passenger cars and camper vans under 7,500 kg are inspected every two years once the vehicle's first inspection is due. Statens vegvesen sets your deadline by the last digit of your registration number and shows it in your vehicle record — we can look it up for you.
What happens if the vehicle fails?
You get a written list of the faults and a deadline to correct them. We can carry out the repairs here and re-check the vehicle, which avoids a second trip to another workshop.
Can you inspect a camper van or a large van?
Yes. We work on camper vans and vans daily, including converted vehicles, and our bays take vehicles that many ordinary car workshops cannot fit.
