Common questions
Can my chip be repaired instead of replaced?
Usually, if it is smaller than a coin and not in the driver's direct line of sight or at the very edge of the screen. Repair keeps the original factory-bonded glass, which is always preferable.
Is a cracked windscreen an EU control failure?
Damage in the driver's field of vision is a failure point, and a crack spreads with temperature change — which in a Norwegian winter can happen overnight. It is worth dealing with early.
Does my insurance cover it?
Glass damage is covered by most comprehensive policies in Norway, often with a lower excess than other claims and sometimes none at all for a chip repair. We invoice your insurer directly.
